This guide is intended to help your mini session process go smoothly. Chances are if you're reading this we are about to be entering the best time of the year! This guide will go over a lot of information, but if you still have questions after feel free to contact me below.
First things first
You've booked your session! Yay! Now it's officially on. Make sure to add your date/time into your calendar.
Your location has been sent via email when you booked. When we get closer to our date I will send out a more comprehensive confirmation email with specific directions.
Hey, what are you wearing?
Outfits are everything
It's the one thing I'm not able to edit later on. It's what you, and I, and everyone else will notice when looking at photos. It's important to find something you're comfortable in. This doesn't mean spending $$$ on new outfits - chances are you already have most of what you need. Click the links to the left for more info on how to choose this part.

Best colors to wear: Earthy or rich colors photograph the best. You have to consider your location too. Wearing a red gown against bright green grass isn't the best idea. Alternatively, wearing a black gown with your partner in a black suit will mesh together. When I edit, colors are slightly altered to match the colors of the locations/other's outfits around you. Not everyone looks their best in the same colors.
Best materials to wear: I am always going to suggest dresses that flow or outfits that aren't too tight. Consider if you're outside. Texas heat is no joke!

My editing will change colors of your outfits. I do not edit true to life color but will try and stay close to your colors you selected while keeping them complimentary to our session and location.

Some other stores I love are:
Totally don't do this
- Matching colors / patterns - why? - You will blend together in photos. Two black shirts in an image becomes one giant black shirt. If you want to wear similar colors, considering wearing something like a dark gray dress against a light gray shirt for your baby. I think neutral and earthy colors will look best overall.
- Neon Colors - why? - It will be distraction in the images and take away from the image overall.
- Stripes / dots - why? - It creates a moire effect and could affect prints.
- Short dresses / dresses with no diaper cover - why? - A lot of prompts will have you laying or sitting down, maybe jumping for kids.
- Unnatural colors/pattern for the location - why? - it creates a huge distraction. An example would be wearing bright red in a field of green. Or very bright white in a white room.

- Earthy Neutrals
Base: Oatmeal, Cream, and Tan Accents: Sage Green, Warm Brown, and Soft Olive)
- Rich Jewel Tones
Base: Charcoal, Ivory, and Deep Blue Denim
Accents: Burgundy, Emerald Green, and Mustard Yellow
- Soft Pastels
Base: Off-white, Heather Gray, and Light Khaki
Accents: Dusty Rose, Slate Blue, and Soft Lavender
Worst Colors
- Black - multiple people especially wearing black blends you together (try one person in black or it being the top/bottom only)
- Pure white - Washes out color, often pulls blue, reflects other colors (try cream instead)
- Reds - Reflects on skin, makes your skin seem more red (try muted rust instead)
- Neons - I feel like this is self explanatory (try no neons please)
- Also colors that usually dont photograph well - brighter pinks, brighter blues, anything high contrast. I add contrast and it can overpower the image.

Soft Proof Gallery
Your soft proof gallery is lightly edited and will arrive around 7-10 days after your session. Please deeply note that these are a soft preview of what your final images will look like. I love giving my families the option to pick their final images, so offering this is very important to me. You're able to leave notes on all the images you pick for me to view. I want to specify that I do not edit out anything on the body (besides obvious cuts, bruises, etc) unless asked otherwise. Other things like sky edits, skin smoothing, teeth whitening, color changes, etc will be fulfilled on final orders. Also note any unelected images will be permanently deleted.
Final Gallery
Around or before 1 week after selecting your final images, you will receive a link to your gallery. It will include all information for downloads, prints, or other important information. Of course if there is any major editing this editing time may be extended. Your final gallery will be up for 6 weeks, please download within this time frame to ensure you have your images.
If you have ordered rush editing your images will be ready within the time frame specified at purchase time. If you'd like to add rush editing or need more info please contact me.
