Parking / Venue

The location is at 611 W 22nd St HOUSTON, TX, 77008.

Parking: There is a parking lot for a restaurant at this location. There also is street parking. Please be aware of where you park to make sure it's free parking vs paid. There is no dedicated parking but when I went there was ample parking. I would give yourself extra time just in case.

Venue: You will see the large bell tower and head that way. You'll have to walk through outdoor eating and enter the first door up the steps on your left. You'll go up the first left stairs and then to the clear/see through door on your right. Please wait here for your session. Please only enter this space when it is time for your session. I will come down to get you.

This is VERY important for those with younger children. There are narrow stairs to walk up to this area. I advise if you have kids younger than 6 to stay on the first section of our set (white room - pictured above). The space above that room has open windows (pictured below) and steps that go up to railings that don't have good protection for little ones. It's completely up to you if you want to go in this area, but I don't recommend it. This is also a reason I am allowing moms to join in this session.

What to Expect

Each session is 15 minutes back to back. This means that we will be on a pretty short schedule. I recommend preparing your kiddos with this information. It helps to make it a game. "Let's see who can smile the most in 15 minutes", "Whoever can follow Ms. Halee's instructions the best gets a surprise". I want to make it a fun experience for everyone involved.

It is important to only enter the building less than 2 minutes before your session because there are restrictions for how many people are allowed inside at a time. I will come down to get you as I release the family before you. We will immediately start so we can get your full time in so please be prepared. I don't have access to make up any missed sessions due to time or other circumstances.

Moms / partners in sessions: Because of the location I am allowing moms/partners to join. Please do not bring anyone else unless it is help instead of your partner due to crowd restrictions. There will be pictures with mom in the session but please understand since it is a Father's Day session it will be geared towards dads & kiddos. If you think your child will have an issue with wanting to be with mom vs dad - please let me know this before so we can plan accordingly!

What to Wear

I am always in favor of wearing clothing that is more neutral in color and can create movement / interactive. Because it's closer to summer there are so many different options for this. Below I'll provide some suggestions, but I am always open if you want to send me some outfits you are considering. I can also help find new outfits in your price range. Please avoid things such as:

Matching outfits / colors - why? - You will blend together in the images.

Neon colors - why? - You will stick out in the images & be distracting.

Heavy / small stripes - why? - It will create a moire effect which can cause issues when printing.

Short dresses / dresses without diaper covers - why? - A lot of my photography will include bending, sitting, or laying down. It is very hard to edit out underwear/diapers after.

Tee shirts - why? - It never really ends up looking nice or professional for images. A nice polo or blouse could really make a difference.

Ultimately I do not have control over what you wear and it is something that I will not be able to change. Please consult with me if you need help choosing outfits because it is probably one of the most important things that goes into having aesthetically pleasing images. You definitely don't need to buy new outfits for everyone and I can help with things you already have. I added some colors and outfit options below that work great with this venue. Also... TEXTURES ARE AMAZING.

Additional Items

Digitals: You will be able to select your images from a soft proof gallery. A soft proof gallery is lightly edited work. Whatever is not selected is not kept. If you want to purchase additional they start at $20 individually and I do bundles when purchasing more.

Prints: I have a lab that you will be able to order prints from. While you're able to go elsewhere for prints, my lab is the only place I guarantee quality and cropping consistency. Please avoid places like Walgreens, CVS, Walmart, etc.

Gallery Rush: If you need your images back early you are able to purchase rush on them. Your gallery in this instance will be done in 5 days or less. If you wish to purchase this it is an additional $150.

When We Are Done

Usually I would be able to chat more, but likely there will be another family immediately after each session. I will email you a link to your soft proof galley approximately 10 days or less. You will be able to choose your favorite images and from there I will complete them and you will get a new link with instructions for your final gallery.

Father's Day is June 20th so please select your final images soon after viewing your soft proof gallery so that I can complete them in time.
